It seems incredible that across India around 214 million people are undernourished and nearly half of these are children, most of whom are Dalits. In our experience many children come to school at Dalit Education Centres either without lunch or with stale, spoiled food. This has an extremely negative impact on their education, causing problems with concentration, health and absenteeism which undermine the opportunity they have for a quality education.
We would like to invite you, your family, friends and members of your church family to partner with us to nourish India’s Dalit children. Three times during their school week, 14,000 children in areas of extreme need will receive a nutritious supplement of milk, eggs and fruit to increase the protein and vitamins in their diet.
As little as 50p would provide a Dalit child with nutritional supplements for one week at school and £18 would nourish them for a whole school year.

• Would you consider making a gift in response to this appeal? You can do this online by card or Paypal, by calling 01691 776711 or sending a cheque made out to Operation Mobilisation and clearly marked for the Fast for Food campaign.
• Could you help by organising a simple Indian meal in aid of Dalit Children? Perhaps your church could host one at Harvest Thanksgiving or some other time, and invite people from the community. Download the menu card which outlines a simple Indian meal that could be produced so easily at very little cost. If you ask people who come to gift the money they would normally spend going out for a meal, together we could make it possible for thousands of children to grow in health and strength this year.
• Could you encourage others to be involved? Download Fast for Food resources below or fill in the online form to request further printed resources.
