On the 19th of February I was privileged to watch Logos Hope leave her dock in Denmark and begin her first voyage into service. We could hear the shouts of joy from the crew on board as they celebrated this milestone and God’s faithfulness.
Everyone who has visited Logos Hope in recent weeks has been inspired by the tremendous faith, energy and commitment of the crew as they worked around the clock (with ‘all hands on deck’ and deep below!) to prepare for this moment. However, the crew of ordinary men and women, some with young families on board, are the first to say they could never have completed this awe-inspiring task without God’s sustaining power and the support of so many faithful and generous people like you.

Empower the first mission of Logos Hope
Now Logos Hope’s mission to bring ‘Good News to the poor’ around the world really begins!!! We have decided to mark her launch into ministry with a visit to the UK. In just a few weeks time Logos Hope will dock in Edinburgh, then go on to visit Belfast, Cardiff and London.I hope you will take the opportunity to visit the ship while she is in the UK. We would love to welcome you on board! When you come please bring the ‘refuel yourself’ voucher attached to this letter and we’ll be delighted to give you a free drink in the International Cafe as a thank you for putting your hands to the pump and supporting this fuel appeal.

Doulos Sails On!
Doulos also has a challenging itinerary ahead of her in 2009 and beyond. She too requires ongoing support from our Fuel Fund to continue her vital mission and life-giving ministry to some of the world’s poorest people and communities.
Fill the tanks and fuel the generators We not only need fuel for the engine rooms of Logos Hope and Doulos, we also need to keep our generators running while the ship is in port! Despite the welcome drop in oil prices over the last few months, fuel is still a major cost for the ships ministry. Please give generously to our Fuel Fund today!
Every year we depend on individuals like you and many churches across the UK to make a special donation to support our Fuel Appeal. This year we need your special help to fi ll the tanks of Logos Hope and doulos. Please will you go the extra mile this year and organise a simple event or collection at your church to raise additional funds for this urgent appeal?
