Tree planting in Finland

OM International

In Leppävaara about 10 km from the center of Finland's capital city Helsinki, around 50 university students and young families gather together weekly to help "plant a tree".  The tree plant is another name for the international church plant project that is being carried out in the community of Leppävaara, which literally means Alder Tree Hill.  The church is strategically located in one of Finland’s most diverse and un-churched areas, meeting in a youth club (complete with Brad Pitt and Britney Spears posters) right next a train station and in the vicinity of three universities.

The symbol of a Tree is being used to reflect the core values of the church.  For example, roots symbolise fellowship, and the branches symbolise community and world outreach through missions.  OM Finland is partnering with this church plant as part of its ongoing strategy to reach out to foreigners living in Finland.  Pray for this "tree" to flourish and grow!  Pray for a strong partnership between OM Finland and this important ministry.
