Country Profile: Romania

OM Romania began full-time ministry in January 1992, two years after the fall of the Socialist Regime on Dec. 22, 1989 and the subsequent execution of dictator Nicolae Ceausescu. For over 20 years prior to starting a ministry in Romania, OM was actively involved in smuggling Christian literature into Romania for the persecuted church.

The primary focus of OM Romania's ministry is to mobilise the Romanian church for local and world missions, and this is achieved through various activities including conferences, church meetings and short-term missions programmes.

OM Romania is also involved in Sports and Roma (Gypsy) ministry locally, with foreigners and national workers joining the team for 1-2 years. Administration remains a great challenge for us, and there are many opportunities to serve in the home office too.
