You will be helping before, during, and after the event - setting up and packing down. During the event you will be rostered on for 6 hours a day serving food, cleaning, or helping with security and being available to do whatever needs to be done. We would also like to take advantage of any specific skills that people have which will be useful to the running of the event. There are also a lot of things to be carried to various places on site, but we can work with your physical abilities/restrictions.

Participant Profile

Participants must have a desire to serve others and have a desire to experience what God is doing here in Belgium and throughout the world! They must also have a passion for Christ which drives them to grow deeper in their relationship with Him and to serve him in practical and creative ways. Participants must be physically able to do some practical work such as carrying things, cleaning and working in a team.

Accommodation is available on-site at Sint-Joris-Weert, Belgium. You can camp in a tent for free or stay in a dorm (with 3 or so people) for €10 per night. Space in the dorm needs to be booked in advance, so please contact us in advance to reserve your space. You will need to provide your own bedding (e.g. sleeping bag) and towels. Showers and toilets are available for your use. If you choose to camp, you will also need to provide all of your necessary equipment such as tent, pillow, mattress etc.

Breakfast is provided as part of the deal for volunteers, but you will need to buy your own food from the food stands that we have onsite (10-15 EUR/day), or bring your own food.

Participants are encouraged to arrive at Brussels International Airport (BRU) on the morning of August 17th . Flight and travel costs to and from Belgium are not included in the outreach cost. Please contact your local OM Office for travel arrangements.

Each participant is encouraged to have their own travel insurance and must notify us of any dietary or medical conditions so that we can make the necessary arrangements. They must not have any allergies that would prevent them from being in a nature environment.

If your passport describes you as a British Citizen, you don’t need a visa to enter Belgium.

Applicants must be 18 or over.

Price excludes flights, insurance and any possible vaccinations, and is subject to change according to the exchange rate.

As part of our Safeguarding policy, you may require a valid enhanced DBS certificate which will cost an additional £20.

Participants are welcome to come and volunteer for different lengths of time as required. Please contact [email protected] for more information regarding this.
