We are looking for people who love to encourage and train others, who have a passion for inclusion and equal rights of people with disabilities and want to share Jesus in word and deed with them and their communities.  Local parents and people with disabilities are forming self-help groups who need support and facilitation/coordination.

If you have a background in the following, you may be a good fit:

  • Social Work
  • Family Counselling
  • Psychology
  • Inclusive Education Pedagogy

This role involves:

  • working with our partner organisations and the families of children with disabilities, or a disabled person themselves in supporting an emerging social work system.
  • supporting families in the process of accepting a disability.
  • providing education for parents and psycho-social support to families and a group of lay counselors.
  • supporting families in moving towards inclusive education.

Start Date: As soon as possible
 Commitment Length: 2-3 years (full-time)

We currently don’t have permission to DIRECTLY work with schools or teachers, so we empower and train our local partners to do so. We are also considering life skills groups for teenagers which could come under this role.

Most people joining OM raise financial support towards the cost of their salaries/expenses. This is usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters. Training and support in this is provided.
