Are you a health worker, male or female, or do you have a medical background? Come and join our team!  We are looking for nurses, midwifes, doctors and HIV-trainers who are willing to teach health workshops.

Start Date: January or August
Commitment Length: 1-2 years (full-time)

What is good health? Usually we think of physical symptoms, but being healthy also includes the social, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of life. We want to see people living in wholeness in each of these areas.

In rural communities people often don’t take care of themselves until they get sick. They then face expensive medical bills, miss school or miss work, all of which cause stress to the whole family. Often good medical care is not available or difficult to access.  Local organisations that partner with OM teach preventative healthcare to reduce these problems before they even start. They help families and individuals through health education workshops in homes and schools, often providing printed resources in local languages.

You will be working with a local organisation which has been operating in this region for more than ten years, providing guidance in areas such as nutrition, hygiene, massage, first aid, sexual education, pregnancy and child health, infectious diseases like hepatitis, HIV and sexual transmitted diseases, and any other topics that the local community asks for.

Most people joining OM raise financial support towards the cost of their salaries/expenses. This is usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters. Training and support in this is provided.
