This is a huge year. You’ve seen a pandemic sweep across the world. You've watched as entire countries have ground to a halt and individuals have been forced to face the fragility of their own lives.

We’ve seen such suffering and upheaval.
But in this bittersweet moment, we hear of Jesus followers seeking to respond with love. To stand up and share the hope that they have.

This could be the lockdown year. The year when everything was cancelled. The year when you couldn’t leave home and fully experience university or travels. A lost year. Or it could be a year of unexpected opportunity. A year to be surprised about what God could do in and through you. A formative year, spent in close communion with the one who made you, knows you and longs to see you step into more of His freedom, joy and purpose.

Your opportunity to grow

OM’s Gap Year Challenge will give you time and space to grow in your faith, equip you to share the hope that you have in Jesus, and help you develop rhythms for missional living. You’ll also learn about the huge need for the Gospel among people groups who have never heard the name of Jesus.

At OM’s rural base in Shropshire, you’ll spend time living in community with other students to form appropriate social-bubble household groupings. Alongside teaching and discipleship, as government measures allow, the Gap Year Challenge will involve team building expeditions in Snowdonia, evangelistic outreaches in the UK and around the world.

It's modular to reflect the year you want - 3, 7 or 11 months

This challenge is split into 3 blocks. We prefer all participants to complete the Autumn Block and choose to stay for the others, but we can be flexible through the programme.
