When I make a donation to OM, how can I be sure that it is going to the right place (for example, towards the support of a specific OM worker?

If you are sending a cheque, please make the details of how you want it to be used clear in your cover letter. If you are making a donation online through our website, please make use of the box denoted for ‘Comments’ and state clearly for what or to whom you want the gift to go towards.

Can I give a one-off gift?

Yes, you can make a single on-time donation via your credit or debit card, or through PayPal.

Can I give a regular recurring gift?

Yes, we are able to process a recurring donation through an online Direct Debit via GoCardless. Direct Debits can be processed monthly, quarterly or annually, and on any day of the month as per your instructions.

Can I give via PayPal

Yes, you can make a one-off donation via PayPal.

Can I give other than through the website?

Yes, you can give by cheque, standing order and bank transfer.

Can we give as a church or organisation?

Yes, you can arrange giving to come from your church or organisation’s credit card or bank account. Please make sure that when you register, you enter the account owner details as being the church or the organisation rather than your own personal name and address.

Do you send receipts?

We send a confirmation email on receipt of a gift.

Can I fundraise towards my own or somebody else’s mission trip expenses?

Yes, you can fundraise towards mission trip expenses by going here. Please note that Gift Aid cannot be claimed on these types of gifts, even if you tick the Gift Aid box

Can I fundraise towards an appeal?

Yes, you can fundraise towards any of the appeals that we are involved in. There is a Fundraise button on each appeal which will direct you to setting up your fundraiser. More information about fundraising here

Can I fundraise towards the financial support of a longterm worker in OM?

Yes, you can fundraise towards the support of a longterm worker, and Gift Aid can be applied if you so wish. More information about fundraising here

How do online Direct Debits work?

Operation Mobilisation processes online Direct Debits through our partner GoCardless, an industry recognised leader in handling Direct Debit payment and donations. If you choose to set of a regular payment through our website, the process is securely integrated with GoCardless where you will be able to set up your bank details etc.

Can I stop my Direct Debit payments?

Yes, you can end your direct debit at any time. The mandate is set up between you and GoCardless, and they will be sending you information in regards to ending the payments at the time you set it up.

What if I want to change the regular amount I give through my Direct Debit?

If you want to change the amount of date of a Direct Debit, the easiest approach is for you to cancel your current one and start afresh. GoCardless will have sent you instructions on how to do this. However, if there are compelling reasons why you prefer not to cancel and start again, contact us on 01691 773388 or email [email protected] and we will make the adjustment on your behalf.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid increases the value of your donations and means OM can benefit even more at no extra cost to you. If you're a UK taxpayer, add Gift Aid whenever you make a donation and we can reclaim the basic rate of tax on your gift - that's 25p for every £1 you give!

If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.

Gift Aid can be added through a simple tick box as you make your donation. Please note, that we cannot claim Gift Aid on payments for Short term mission trips, even if you tick the box.

What will you do with information you collect about me, such as my address?

As per GDPR regulations, we will only use any information you give us for that purpose for which you provided it. For a donation, we will simply keep your details for our financial records, and nothing else will be sent to you without your express permission.
