Impact Ireland is all about sharing the Gospel with people who do not know Jesus, confident that the Gospel will make an impact in their lives.

We want to:
- introduce Irish people to Jesus by sharing the Gospel message widely and creatively
- inspire Irish believers to live for Christ
- encourage and support Irish churches in evangelism
- help participants grow in their love for God and their confidence in sharing the Gospel

Impact Ireland is an exciting outreach, involving Christians from around the world working together with local Irish churches, to share and demonstrate the love of Jesus. Experience thought-provoking, creative, and interactive training and then join an international team to share the message of the Gospel in word and action, together with local Christians across Ireland.

The programme starts with one day of training and orientation at Lacken House, OM Ireland’s headquarters. This includes Bible teaching, worship, understanding and articulating the Gospel, prayer, introduction to Irish culture, and other practical training. Participants will then head out in teams across Ireland, working with local churches to share the Gospel and demonstrate God’s love in action. In previous years we have engaged in the following ministries, and we expect to be doing similar ministries this year: children’s clubs, open-air street evangelism, cleaning litter on estates, street theatre, leaflet distribution, musical opportunities, visiting the elderly, gardening, sports and activities with youth. Also, we will be involved with the Fleadh (Annual Irish Music festival). Musicians welcome.

Participants Profile

We are looking for people who are passionate about Jesus and want to share the Gospel.  Team members will need to be flexible and willing to step out of their comfort zone to try new things. A good level of English is required, as all training and outreach activities will be in English. High level of energy is required as most church programmes will entail long work days.

Accommodation

For the orientation and training you will be at Lacken House.  We provide beds/mattresses during this time, but all participants should bring a sleeping bag and pillow.  During the ministry outreach, local churches will arrange accommodation - some in homes and others in church halls - so it is advisable to bring an air mattress.  If you have any particular need/requirement for alternative provision, contact your local OM office.

We accept married couples and will do out best to accommodate them together, but they may have separate sleeping accommodation.

Food

During the orientation all meals will be at Lacken House. While taking part in the ministry outreach week, local churches will organise food.  In some cases the churches will provide and prepare food, in other cases they will provide food for you to prepare.  If you are a vegetarian, or have any special dietary needs, make sure you inform us before you come.

Travel

Please fly into Dublin airport (DUB) in the morning (before 12 pm) of Wednesday 12th July.  Please book your departure flight from 12 pm or later, on Tuesday 25th July.  We may be able to collect you from the airport and if not, we will send details of how to get from the airport by bus. Please do not book flights unless you have received an acceptance email from the Short Term Missions team.
