Every year hundreds of thousands of devoted Catholics make their way to Fatima to worship and offer penance to the Virgin Mary. This is one of the holiest sites for Roman Catholics, as in 1917, three young shepherd children reported being visited by Mary. The pilgrims who come to this site are in Spiritual darkness and need to understand the hope and freedom that comes through Jesus.

With Portugal’s strong ties to Roman Catholicism, the anniversary of the reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Fatima is a huge event in the country. During the week there will be an estimated 500,000 devout Catholics arriving to offer prayers and worship to Mary. These people are lost and need to hear about the saving power of Jesus! Will you come and share the hope you have in Portugal?

During the outreach we will be interacting with the pilgrims by giving out water, Christian literature, and offering to pray for people. As a team, we will also spend a lot of time in prayer, as there is a very real battle going on in Fatima.
