Our purpose is to proclaim the Gospel to people from an Orthodox background who have probably never heard how to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We will be involved in church planting activities in the town of Corabia, in the extreme south of Romania. Together with local church members we want to connect with people and preach the Gospel in an area where less than 1 % of the population are born again believers.

The common team language will be English, but the locals will speak Romanian. Do not expect them to know or be confident enough to speak English. There will be translators on your team. In your acceptance pack, we will send you some basic phrases to learn too (Handbook Welcome to Romania).

Ministry Details

A significant part of this outreach will be prayer, proclaiming Jesus' victory over the surrounding occultism, godlessness, broken relationships, adultery, violence and ancester worship. We will be a small team, the number of international participants is limited.

We will have prayer walks and personal conversations with people on the street and in other public places. One of our tools for getting involved in quality conversations will be questionnaires. There might also be the opportunity for home visits and literature distribution.

Participant Profile

You should have a heart for the lost, without fear of a spiritual battle, and be enthusiastic about sharing the Gospel with whoever we will have the chance to meet. All participants should be physically fit, able to cope with irregular meal schedules and a hot climate. Participants will need to be team players with a teachable heart and a willingness to submit and grow. Being flexible, forgiving, encouraging, and having a good sense of humour is essential.

Accommodation

Please ensure you have your own sleeping bag and air mattress. Toilet facilities may be very basic and shower facilities may be primitive and/or limited. There may not be laundry facilities. We will probably stay in the local church building.

Food

We will provide the meals in partnership with the local church and may have a rotating "kitchen help" schedule for you to be involved in.
