Thousands of international tourists come to Switzerland during the summer, including many Arabs from the Arabian Peninsula.  Many have never had the opportunity to personally meet a Jesus follower or to hear the Gospel in their home country. We want to take this unique opportunity and use the freedom we have in Switzerland to share God`s love with the Arabs from the Arab Peninsula.

Ministry Details

Participants will be part of an outreach team that serves in either the afternoon or evening shift. Each team will consist of a praying pair and an engaging pair. Participants will serve as part of a four-person team, at the book table engaging passers by or at the Jesus film showing.

During the morning sessions we will hear testimonies and have some special lessons in which we learn more about Islam and what it means to live in the Arab world. We will also learn how to start a conversation and share Christ with Muslims. Prayer, worship and devotion are all part of the morning programme.

There is a free day for sightseeing built into the programme too.

Participant Profile

We will be an international team and the outreach language is English. Participants speaking Arabic are especially welcomed! You must be willing to learn about cultures and religion of Arabs.

Accommodation

Good quality accommodation in a Christian guest house with a beautiful view of the mountains and within walking distance of Interlaken. Hotel information can be found here 

Budget Rooms -2-4 beds per room, sink in the room, shower and toilet are not in the room, they are separate on the same floor. 

Standard Rooms - Rooms with 2-4 beds, bathroom with a shower and toilet in the room. 

Food

All meals are included. Special diet plan can be requested. Please inform us of any special dietary requirements upon application.

Travel

Arrival: Plan to arrive between 2 pm and latest 5 pm. Rooms are not available earlier.

Participants arrange and pay for their own travel to Interlaken West.

Switzerland has 3 airports: Geneva(GVA), Zurich(ZRH) & Basel(BSL). You can travel to Interlaken by train within 3 hours of all 3 airports. The Train ticket isn't included in the price. Trains are a very safe and common transport in Switzerland.

Participants will be picked from Interlaken West station. Please do not book any travel before confirmation of acceptance.

Health

Participants should make sure their personal medical insurance covers them during the outreach time. Participants need to be ready for long hours of standing and walking during outreach times. If you have health limitations or allergies, please, let us know.

Visa

British citizens do not require a visa.

Notes

Price is subject to change according to the exchange rate.

Individuals applying must be 18 or over.

Under 18's are welcome to apply but must have parental consent and be accompanied by a responsible adult. Children under 13 will be included on their parent’s application form. 

As part of our Safeguarding policy, you may require a valid enhanced DBS certificate which will cost an additional £15.
