REACH Silkroad in Turkey 2024

We aim to give participants:

Knowledge and experiences to help them grow, and continue growing, in their knowledge of God and themselves.
An understanding of God's heart for the nations. We particularly focus on what God is doing amongst Muslim people in the world and within our movement, while exposing participants to various opportunities.

Participants will learn tried and tested skills and biblical tools to engage Muslim peoples. Participants will be provided opportunities to apply what they have learned within Turkey and another Muslim country.

Suitable for	Families with children below school age are welcome to apply.

Participant Profile

Participants need to be flexible, teachable, somewhat adventurous as they explore and adjust to a new environment. Participants need to be in good health as the REACH in Turkey programme requires a lot of walking and travelling.

Accommodation

People will be staying in rented flats sharing with other participants.

Food

Participants are given allowances each week and expected to cater for themselves by a simple lifestyle. Some team meals will be shared together.

Travel

Participants need to arrange their own travel to and from Turkey. All ministry travel during REACH in Turkey is covered.

Health

In addition to the requirement of personal insurance, basic private insurance will be purchased in Turkey when applying for a residence permit (this cost is included in the participants fee).

Visa

Before arriving in Turkey, participants need to apply for an e-visa online or through their embassy or consulate. In country, participants will be assisted to apply for a residence permit. You can use this website to apply for an e-visa https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/

Price excludes flights, insurance, visa & any possible vaccinations, and is subject to change according to the exchange rate.

This REACH programme is tailored towards ages 21-50.

Children below school age can apply on their parents application form.

It is highly recommended you attend OM UK's Getting into Gear preparation weekend in Shropshire either in the May or October before your placement. This is an additional £75 and is a weekend of training and preparation.

As part of our Safeguarding policy, you will require a valid enhanced DBS certificate, which may cost an additional £20.
