This is an opportunity to support the ongoing ministry to village churches in the Vinnitsa province to establish children's and teen ministry and Sunday schools. Through our exciting, fast paced, fun, Gospel themed summer Bible camp program, you will get to use your spiritual gifting to share the Gospel message of Jesus Christ with children in Ukrainian villages.

Come and join us in Vinnitsa, Ukraine for evangelistic summer camps for teenagers and be part of igniting the flame for children's ministry that 70 years of communism all but extinguished.

Ministry Details

You will be assisting a group leader in Bible lessons, games, crafts leader and skits. During afternoons, we have an opportunity to play football, volleyball, badminton, or other games with the children. It is also common to have opportunities to interact with their parents. Each day we will sing songs, so if you are musically inclined we invite you to play an instrument. Many of our Ukrainian volunteers speak English as well, so you should be able to communicate with the children. Even though there will be someone to translate, please do not expect a full time translator working with you personally. Be creative in communicating with the kids too.

Participant Profile

Born again Christians with a heart for children and teens, able to handle the stress that the language barrier brings with it. A team player with a servant heart and a sense of humour. We love to have people with various talents - musical talent, artistic talent and athletic ability. You do not need to speak Russian or Ukrainian in order to participate in this ministry.

The days before and after the camp you will be housed in the Vinnitsa dorm - comfortable rooms. During the village camp you may be housed with local believers, in church halls, maybe sleeping on the floor, and using outside basic toilets.

All meals are included in the price. Expect good home cooked Ukrainian food. Unfortunately, during these camps we are unable to cater for special diets. You may be required to cook for yourself.

Please fly to Kiev-Boryspil airport (KBP).  You will be met at the airport by a representative of OM Ukraine with an OM sign. Teams will be picked up with the OM bus. Individuals will be accompanied but travel by train to Vinnitsa.

Please do not book flights until you have received an acceptance email from the Short Term team.

Participants must be in good physical health and able to potentially lift and carry equipment, set up equipment, and take part in various activities with the children, both during and after the camp program. Travel on the Ukrainian roads can be hard on your back. Travel may include a donkey cart ride and you might be walking a lot in the village to where the camp will be held each day.

British citizens do not need a visa for visiting Ukraine up to 90 days.

Individuals applying must be 18 or over.

Under 18s are welcome to apply for all of these options, but must have parental consent and be accompanied by a responsible adult. Children under 13 will be included on their parent’s application form. 13-17 year olds can apply using our shortened form for teenagers.

Price is subject to change according to the exchange rate.
