Ministry Details

After arriving, there will be a day of preparations, orientation and understanding the programme that will be presented. After this, there will be days of traveling to villages. Before you travel each day, there will be a prayer time after breakfast. Your team will drive to local nursery schools where you will set up and run the puppet shows and spend time with the children. In the evenings you will return to Vinnitsa for dinner, feedback of the day, fellowship and rest. You will be able to fully partake in the Puppet theatre show, as a puppet master, as the play is pre-recorded in Russian. You will have rehearsal times with the team.

Participant Profile

Participants need to be Christians who are church members and non-smokers. If you can play and bring along a musical instrument (like a guitar you could bring along) that would be a great blessing. You should be able to converse with children as well as their parents to share the Gospel.

You will be housed in the Vinnitsa dorm - comfortable rooms with bunk beds.

All meals are included. Expect good home cooked Ukrainian food. Please let us know if you have any special dietary needs.

Please arrive at the Havryshivka Vinnytsia International Airport (VIN). You will be met at the airport by a representative of OM Ukraine with an OM sign. The team will likewise make sure you get back to the airport in time for your departure flight.

Please do not book any flights unless you have received an acceptance email from the Short Term Missions team.

Participants must be in good health. Travel on the Ukrainian roads can be hard on one's back and you might be walking a lot in the villages to where the outreaches are held. This will differ from village to village.

British citizens do not need a visa for visiting Ukraine up to 90 days.

Individuals applying must be 18 or over.

Under 18s are welcome to apply but must have parental consent and be accompanied by a responsible adult. Children under 13 will be included on their parent’s application form. 13-17 year olds can apply using our shortened form for teenagers.

Price excludes flights, insurance and any possible vaccinations and is subject to change according to the exchange rate.

As part of our Safeguarding policy, you may require a valid enhanced DBS certificate which will cost an additional £20.

Even though there will be translators, please do not expect you own personal translator. Be prepared for frustration with the language barrier and to be creative in finding ways to communicate.
