We might feel limited during lockdown. But our prayers are not. And our Father loves it when we choose to come into His presence in prayer.

Let’s seek to love our local neighbours, as well as lifting our eyes beyond our own situations to see the global needs that we can be covering in prayer.

Rohingya Refugees

Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh are particularly at risk of COVID-19 infection. Around one million refugees live in informal settlements, where sanitation is poor and living conditions are crowded.

• Pray for protection from COVID-19 for Rohingya refugees, for whom social distancing is a luxury that is impossible to implement fully.
• Pray that information on how to prevent the virus spreading will reach the Rohingya people, as internet shutdowns in and around the camps threaten to make the situation worse.

Fear not

On Friday 24th April, 1.8 billion Muslims began a month of Ramadan unlike any they’ve experienced before. Normally Ramadan is a time to come together, but coronavirus is causing isolation. 

• Pray that, as COVID-19 continues to impact the Muslim world, many would look to Jesus for peace and hope. 
• Pray for Muslims throughout the world to encounter Jesus through the Bible and in dreams and visions.

This video from the 24/7 Prayer movement outlines a new prayer initiative for this time. As we live through a global pandemic, let’s be crying out to our God for healing and revival. Share with your congregation to raise awareness of how to unite in prayer with the Global Church. OM is a global partner of Unite 7:14

Central Asia: They will know you by your love

• Pray for OM workers discipling seekers who have participated in Discovery Bible Study – ask for wisdom in how to maintain these connections well while social distancing.
• Pray also for those involved in creating radio and TV programmes to reach Central Asians. Find out how one of our partner ministries is using media to reach Afghans here 

Logos Hope - Barbados Port Report

• Logos Hope is currently closed to the public until further notice, in compliance with worldwide COVID-19 advice. However, here is a recap of some of Logos Hope’s pre-lockdown activities on the island of Barbados, narrated by Jamie.
• Pray for the ship community in this time of lockdown, particularly the crewmembers who are focusing on maintaining the vessel.
• Pray for the crewmembers as they take advantage of training opportunities and prepare creative ways to reach out to share knowledge, help and hope.
• Praise God for good health and unity on board.

Cambodia: Go and make disciples

In Cambodia, access to robust healthcare services is limited, particularly in rural areas. The country is also prone to droughts, floods and typhoons. These are two of many factors which could exacerbate a severe outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.

• Pray for protection from COVID-19 for Cambodians, particularly the elderly and vulnerable.
• Pray that more Buddhist families in Cambodia would have the chance to hear and respond to the Gospel.

Church Planting in the Balkans

In the Balkan peninsula, there are few Bible-believing, evangelical churches in existence.

• Pray for the church planting ministry in the Balkans, particularly during this pandemic, when previously unreached people may be engaging with church digitally for the first time.
• Pray also particularly for OM’s refugee ministry in Serbia, that relies on help from short term volunteers, who cannot now travel overseas to support the ministry.

The Mekong Region

Pray for OM teams in the Mekong Region when discipleship now looks very different and reaching people with the Gospel needs a new, creative approach.

• Pray for wisdom for leaders of countries in South East Asia as they implement measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Mercy Appeal

Through the Mercy Appeal OM is responding to COVID-19 by providing hygiene kits, medication and food packs to vulnerable communities.

• Pray for those living in the world’s slums and refugee camps, where overcrowding could increase the risk of COVID-19 infection.
• Pray that OM’s relief products will be distributed efficiently to those who need them most.
