REACH Silkroad in West Asia 2024 God-willing we hope to run this again. The information below gives you an idea of what to expect. We aim to give participants: Knowledge and experiences to help them grow, and continue growing, in their knowledge of, and intimacy with God and awareness of self. An understanding of God's heart for the nations. We particularly focus on what God is doing amongst Muslim people in the world and within our movement, while exposing participants to various opportunities. Participants will learn biblical and proven skills and tools to engage Muslim peoples while serving on a multicultural team. Participants will be provided opportunities to apply what they have learned in one country for 3 months and another 2 months in other Muslim countries within West and Central Asia (when possible). Dates 22nd January - 1st July 2024 Apply by 17th November 2023 Cost £5,715 (excluding flights, insurance, any possible vaccinations and visa) Ages 21+ Suitable for Families with children below school age are welcome to apply. As a result of REACH in West Asia , we want to see global participants, including same, near and far-culture people, walking in step with God as their hearts and experiences are stretched. We want to equip them practically and with confidence to engage with Muslims as a member of our teams or others in the Muslim world or diaspora. Participant Profile Participants need to be flexible, teachable, somewhat adventurous as they explore and adjust to a new environment. Participants need to be in good health as the REACH programme requires a lot of walking and travelling. Accommodation You will be staying in a local family's house or sharing a flat with other participants. Food Participants are given allowances each week and expected to cater for themselves by a simple lifestyle. Some team meals will be shared together. Travel Participants need to arrange their own travel to West Asia. All ministry travel during REACH is covered. Health You will need emergency medical and travel insurance and will need to check the policy of entering West Asia to see if any vaccinations are required. Visa Applicants will be given further information on how to apply for a visa once accepted. After arrival, participants will be assisted in the application for other Muslim countries within West and Central Asia. Notes Price excludes flights, insurance, visa & any possible vaccinations, and is subject to change according to the exchange rate. This REACH programme is tailored towards ages 21-50. Children below school age can apply on their parents application form. We highly recommend you join OM in the UK’s Getting into Gear weekend (GiG) which you can attend a weekend in October (dates tbc). This is a weekend of training and orientation which will be conducted in Shropshire and will cost an additional £75. As part of our Safeguarding policy, you will require a valid enhanced DBS certificate, which may cost an additional £15.
