Spain: Port Evangelism Come and join in evangelism in a port in southern Spain, sharing your faith with the thousands of travellers who cross the Strait of Gibraltar. This is a great opportunity to share the gospel with North Africans in a port which has one of the highest numbers of people travelling between Europe and North Africa. Dates Tuesday, 02 July - Tuesday, 16 July 2024 Apply by 01 May 2024 Cost £650 (excluding flights, insurance & DBS if required) Ages 18+ Suitable for During the outreach, you will give out scriptures and other gospel resources to North Africans in the port area. You will receive training from people with extensive experience of working with Muslims and clear guidance will be given on appropriate behaviour and clothing in this Muslim context. You'll learn more about cross cultural missions as you serve with the OM team in this city. This work is done in conjunction with other ministries that work in the port.Teaching, fellowship and prayer will be in English, Spanish and perhaps other languages, with ongoing translation whenever possible. Participant Profile We are looking for people who are teachable, flexible and passionate about sharing the gospel with Muslims, with a strong faith in Jesus Christ and a willingness for God to work in your life.You must be 18 years old or over and in good health because you will spend several hours on your feet in the sun (don’t forget the sun cream!) You must already speak good English or Spanish. It’s not essential to know any Spanish but even a basic level will be very helpful for you. Accommodation You will be sharing a flat or house with other participants, OM workers or local believers. You may have to share a bedroom. Food Meals will be provided for you. All dietary requirements can be catered for, as long as we know about them in advance. Travel You can fly to the airports of Malaga, Seville or Gibraltar. You can then take public transport from the airport to the city where you will be based. The cost of the public transport is in addition to the cost of the programme. Please do not book flights unless you have received an official acceptance email from the Short Term outreach team. Health Participants should be in good health and be able to be on their feet for several hours at a time in hot weather. We need to know about any health issues, dietary requirements, food allergies or intolerances in advance. Visa British citizens can travel to countries in the Schengen area for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa. Notes Price is subject to change according to the exchange rate.
