What if God wants to use YOU here so that people can encounter Him? Let's have an adventure with God and bring the good news of Jesus to the people of Ferlach!

Ferlach, with roughly 7,500 inhabitants, is the southernmost city in Austria. Surrounded by mountains, it lies in the Valley of Roses, next to the river Drau. Only a few people here have a living relationship with Jesus. Many believers have found their spiritual home in the nearby, larger city of Klagenfurt. Yet a small group dreams of a growing church here in the Valley of Roses.

Ministry Details

The mission week consists of a variety of programmes, tailored to the local church.

Together we will daily worship God and seek his presence, before we invite people to encounter his presence.

With creative conversation starters we approach people on the streets and have personal conversations on life and Jesus as our Saviour. In the beginning we will have training sessions, where you learn how to share the gospel creatively and relatable. Your heart burns for people to be saved? We are looking for YOU!

The musicians, poets, artists in the team will have small concerts, touching peoples hearts and sharing testimonies. You are a musician/artist? We are looking for You too.

Participant Profile

Your heart burns for mission? You are ready to lead conversations about Jesus? We are looking for you! Experience with Outreaches is helpful, but not necessary, there will be training.

The outreach Language is German, though English speakers are welcome as well.

Accommodation

We will either be accommodated privately or in a student home.

Food

We will have people with us who will cook for the team during the outreach. Special diets need to be clarified first.

Travel

Participants arrange and pay for their own travel. You need to book flights to Vienna (VIE), Salzburg (SZG) or Ljubljana(LJU), and take the train to Ferlach train station. Participants will be picked up there. Trains are a very safe and common way of transport in Austria. Check out the most suitable connection at www.oebb.at

Please do not book any travel before confirmation of acceptance.

Health

Participants need to be ready for long hours standing/walking during outreach times. If you have health limitations, please let us know.

We strongly recommend that all visa applications be submitted to the relevant consular website as per their specified requirements well in advance of your intended travel date, this could be up to 8-12 weeks in advance.

If a visa is denied or not obtained in time, we are unable to offer any reimbursement for flight costs or any other travel-related expenses. All bookings are made at the traveller’s own risk, and we advise confirming placement/outreach approval before making any non-refundable travel arrangements.
