Details of Ministry

During REACH you will join participants from other nations and backgrounds in an international team. REACH is a full-time, residential training programme. It’s designed for participants to pull away from their normal life and give their full attention to the experience of living in a multi-cultural community, which will help prepare them for cross-cultural missions.

Classroom: classroom time will enable participants to understand the biblical basis of mission and build a strong foundation for your works in mission. It will include teaching, workshops, simulations, small discussion groups, worship, and Bible studies.

Outreaches: during outreaches participants will get to travel and serve with OM teams in other European countries including Republic of Ireland, Moldova, Serbia, Romania, and some of the UK’s biggest multi-cultural cities including London, Birmingham, and Liverpool. These outreach opportunities will help participants to gain first hand mission experience and put into practice their classroom learning.

Living cross- culturally: participants will be living as part of a multi-cultural community and get to know different cultures as they work, learn, and grow together.

Coach-Mentoring: coach-mentoring is an essential part of the REACH experience. The aim of coach-mentoring is for participants to receive individual attention from an experienced Jesus follower who can help them on their spiritual and emotional journey, and personal development. Coach-mentoring sessions will help participants set goals and move towards them as they journey through the programme. Each participant will be assigned a coach-mentor of the same gender and will be expected to meet with them on a weekly basis.

Training modules: orientation, Spiritual formation, Evangelism, Leadership & Teamwork, Missions, Purpose and calling, vibrant community of Jesus Followers (VCJF), Transition, Debrief and Re-entry.

Training Modules

Orientation: participants will be able to understand OM history, values and vision, understand basic logistics of the programme and understand cross-cultural community living, all of which will enable them to get the most out of REACH.

Spiritual formation: participants will be able to have a better understanding of knowing and loving God, knowing and loving themselves and knowing and loving others. They will also have tools to intentionally grow in spiritual and emotional maturity.

Evangelism: participants will be able to scripturally understand and clearly and confidently present the gospel and have developed some basic skills in presenting the gospel through a variety of methods, to a range of people.

Purpose and calling:  participants will understand who God created them to be, the gifts and strengths He has given them and how they find their places in God’s mission on Earth, while exploring the universal missionary calling to each of us.

VCJF: participants will be able to understand the Great Commission, the purpose for discipleship, be equipped with simple tools for making disciples who make disciples and understand basic strategies for how to start discipleship making movements.

Leadership and Teamwork: participants will understand biblical models of leadership and the OM leadership framework. They will be equipped with foundation-level tools for leading small groups that can also be applied to their next ministry fields, including in the topics of servant leadership, conflict resolution and basic teamwork principles.

Missions: participants will be able to understand the purpose of missions; the biblical foundation for missions; evangelism amongst different world faiths; how to understand, assess and contextualise evangelism in a different culture and how to effectively mobilise the church for missions.

Transition, Debrief and Re-entry: participants will have effectively debriefed their time at REACH and understand the challenges of transition and re-entry.
