The story of Buddhism begins in in India with a man named Siddhartha Gautama in the 5th Century. Born into wealth, he was shocked and disgusted at the poverty he saw. He concluded that the essential nature of life was suffering. He developed 'four noble truths' by which Buddhists seek to rid themselves of suffering and reach enlightenment. The goal of life is to reach a state where no good or evil desire remains - "nirvana."

“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 – NIV)

Jesus understands that we will face suffering, but offers Himself as the answer.

Prayer Reach is an app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices that acts as a catalyst for prayer that reaches into the communities of the world where churches are few, and Jesus followers are often not present. By spending time in prayer for people who do not yet know God's amazing love, we align our hearts and minds with His, and open ourselves to how He might desire to use us for His work in the world.
