This programme is for you! REACH Brazil equips participants with the essential skills, knowledge and experience needed to engage in cross cultural missions. You will be challenged to grow as a disciple of Jesus. Our aim is to guide you to find your strategic place in world missions! It combines classroom teaching and outREACH giving participants a taste of different mission contexts. A Biblical foundation for discipleship provides a structure for spiritual growth, healing and a platform for sharing your faith. This is an opportunity for you to embody Christ’s love, serving others selflessly. Every participant will have a coach-mentor to help them on their journey, and personal development. Weekly sessions will help participants set goals and move towards them through the course of the programme. REACH Brazil is a full time, residential programme designed to help prepare for cross-cultural missions through understanding the Biblical basis of mission and building a strong foundation for works in mission. The outREACH time will help participants gain first-hand mission experience and put what they've learnt into practice. The modules consist of orientation, spiritual formation, evangelism, leadership and teamwork, missions, purpose and calling, VCJF, transition, de-brief and re-entry. Participant Profile As a participant, you would need to: - Have a love for Jesus and a desire to share your faith- Have a desire and openness to allow God to work in your life- Have a desire to learn, be challenged and grow as a person- Be flexible and be willing to work in a team This programme is suitable for Portuguese and Spanish speakers. Accommodation Participants stay in dormitory-style rooms. There are separate blocks for male and female. You will have the opportunity to grow in teamwork and service by helping to keep the training base clean and tidy. Food There will be a variety of meals prepared by our cook and some by the REACH participants themselves. Participants will be expected to eat most meals together as REACH participants and to serve together serving and clearing up after most of your meals. Please let us know in advance of any special dietary needs (vegetarian, food allergies, dairy-free, gluten free, etc.) Travel Participants from overseas and other states of Brazil must plan to arrive at the International Guarulhos airport, São Paulo. Please do not book flights unless you have received an official acceptance email from the Short Term Outreach team. Health Participants should be in good health and able to do typical house chores, play games with children and youth and walk a reasonable distance without difficulty. Visa For UK citizens a visa is required for trips longer than 90 days (REACH programme is 5 months). We highly recommend you join OM in the UK’s Getting into Gear weekend (GiG) which you can attend a weekend in October (18-20th). This is a weekend of training and orientation which will be conducted in Shropshire and will cost an additional £75.
