REACH in Ghana exists to inspire, disciple and equip Jesus followers to be able to move into a different cultural context to see vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least reached!

We empower the spiritual formation of participants, the understanding of God’s mission and becoming equipped to reach the least reached.

Applications for 2023 have now closed but this will be run again near the beginning of 2024. We hope to have more dates soon!

Ministry Details

REACH in Ghana equips participants through four key dynamics in order to fulfil the purpose:

1. Spirituality: Having a deeper intimate relationship with Jesus, to know mysteries in His Kingdom and the purpose for your life
2. Relationships: Living in a diverse community will enable you to adjust to cross-cultural situations
3. Experience: Giving you all the hands-on concrete skills needed to reach the Least Reached through outreaches etc
4. Instructional: Giving you the interactive tools and directions to see you equipped to go to the nations

Participant Profile

Participants should:

• Be a committed Christian with a call to missions and sent by a local church
• Be able to read and write in English. French is an asset
• Be willing to adjust to different conditions and work as a team
• Fulfil and abide by OM Ghana policies


Single participants will stay in shared living accommodation and married couples will stay in a self-contained bedroom. You will need to bring bedding with you.


Participants will cater for themselves as a team, eating together and rotating the food preparation/cleaning etc. 


You will need to fly to Kotoka Airport (Accra) and will be collected there and driven to Kumasi by Bus. There will be an extra cost of 100 dollars for airport pick up and return. 

Please do not book flights unless you have received an official acceptance email from the Short Term Outreach team.


You should be in good health both mentally and physically. Please notify us of any dietary requirements and/or any medical history. All participants require medical insurance and must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. You will also be expected to present a yellow fever certificate on arrival in and departure from Ghana.


British citizens require a volunteer Visa before arrival.


Individuals applying must be 19 or over. This option is tailored towards participants aged 19-50.

Price excludes flights, insurance, visa & any possible vaccinations and is subject to change according to the exchange rate. You are advised to take extra money for snacks, airtime and data. There is an additional charge of 100 dollars for airport pick up and return. 

It is highly recommended you attend OMUK’s Getting into Gear weekend (GiG) held in the May or October before you go which is a time of training and preparation. This is an additional cost of £75. Please enquire for details.

As part of our Safeguarding policy, you may require a valid enhanced DBS certificate, which may cost an additional £15.
