Spirituality: Having a deeper intimate relationship with Jesus, to know mysteries in His Kingdom and the purpose for your life 2. Relationships: Living in a diverse community will enable you to adjust to cross-cultural situations 3. Experience: Giving you all the hands-on concrete skills needed to reach the Least Reached through outreaches etc 4. Instructional: Giving you the interactive tools and directions to see you equipped to go to the nations Participant Profile Participants should: • Be a committed Christian with a call to missions and sent by a local church• Be able to read and write in English. French is an asset• Be willing to adjust to different conditions and work as a team• Fulfil and abide by OM Ghana policies Accommodation Single participants will stay in shared living accommodation and married couples will stay in a self-contained bedroom. Food Participants will cater for themselves as a team, eating together and rotating the food preparation/cleaning etc. Travel You will need to fly to Kotoka Airport (Accra) and either take a domestic flight (1hr15mins) to Tamale or you can travel by road to Tamale (11 hours’ drive). Please do not book flights unless you have received an official acceptance email from the Short Term Opportunities team. Health You should be in good health both mentally and physically. Please notify us of any dietary requirements and/or any medical history. You will also be expected to present a yellow fever certificate on arrival in and departure from Ghana. Visa British citizens require a volunteer Visa before arrival. Please note that it is the responsibility of each traveller to ensure they obtain the necessary visa(s) required for entry into the country that they plan to visit. We strongly recommend that all visa applications be submitted to the relevant consular website as per their specified requirements well in advance of your intended travel date, this could be up to 8-12 weeks in advance. If a visa is denied or not obtained in time, we are unable to offer any reimbursement for flight costs or any other travel-related expenses. All bookings are made at the traveller’s own risk, and we advise confirming placement/outreach approval before making any non-refundable travel arrangements. Notes Individuals applying must be 19 or over. Price excludes flights, insurance, visa & any possible vaccinations and is subject to change according to the exchange rate. You are advised to take extra money for snacks, airtime and data. We highly recommend you join OM in the UK’s Getting into Gear weekend (GiG) which you can attend a weekend in October or April before you go. This is a weekend of training and orientation which will be conducted in Shropshire and will cost an additional £75. As part of our Safeguarding policy, you will require a valid enhanced DBS certificate, which may cost up to an additional £30. There is an opportunity for additional Cross Cultural Training once you have completed REACH in Ghana. The purpose of this further 3 month option is to prepare and empower you practically to specialise in your individual ministry focus for an unreached area. Please contact us for more details.
