Since the early beginnings of OM, we have been passionate about equipping people for missions. OM offers discipleship training placements which are diverse and vary in length from several months to 2 years.

The aim of each placement is to invest in you through quality training, mentoring and ministry experience, to expand your worldview and to prepare you for a missional life, making disciples of others, wherever God calls you. We focus on growing you in your journey as a follower of Christ and equipping you to be His Ambassador to the nations.

Mentoring in OM is hands-on, side-by-side, walking in faith to see each other develop and grow as God has gifted us. It's walking together, not just talking. Be prepared for an intensive but rewarding experience.

Here are some examples of discipleship training opportunities we have offered:

REACH programmes (formerly MDT)

REACH programmes offer an exciting introduction to cross cultural mission while helping you to deepen your relationship with God and grow in discipleship. Several OM teams offer a diverse programme and each will include mentoring, training, community life and outreach. You could be in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Moldova, Romania, Turkey, South Africa… To read more details and view the different REACH opportunities click here.

Africa Trek Internship

The Africa Trek Internship is a 11-month programme that aims to give its participants experience and exposure to discipleship, missions and leadership. It seeks to develop young people with potential and disciple them to become high quality, effective disciple-makers and leaders who know their identity in Christ and know their calling. The Africa Trek is in a challenging environment and acts as an effective medium in developing leaders.

Middle East North Africa (MENA) Travelling Team

This 1-2 year programme is designed specifically for men aged 18-25. The MTT (MENA Traveling Team) is perfectly suited for those who are ready to go to extreme lengths to make the gospel of Jesus available to those living in the religiously closed countries of the Middle East and North Africa. MTT will specifically utilise the gifts of those who excel in challenging and higher risk environments.

For a discipleship placement with OM, you will need:

• to be at least 18 years old
• have a good level of spoken English
• a desire and openness to allow God to work in your life
• a desire to learn and grow as a person
• a willingness to live and function as part of a team
• an openness to people of other faiths and cultures

Financial Support

Most people joining OM raise financial support towards the cost of their salaries/expenses. This is usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters. Training and support in this will be provided.
