Do you have a heart for children and/or for youth?  Do you want to get to know them, share the Gospel and disciple them? We want to see vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least reached and strive to share the hope of the gospel with people of all ages and walks of life. 

OM works in over 110 countries and there are many opportunities to share Gods love with children and youth with one of these teams for a year, 2 years or longer through a variety of ways.

Ministry Opportunities

You could primarily be in a pre-school or school setting, running programmes for children who can’t attend school, supporting children who have been abandoned, running camps, being involved in social work, organising different programmes, serving children with special needs or even join a placement where you gain training on reaching children with the gospel and helping them on their journey.

Other ministry opportunities could include the following:

• Visiting refugee homes
• Supporting families

Requirements of the role

Requirements for each role will differ but you will likely need:

• A heart for children and/or youth
• Ability to relate well with children/youth
• A love for sharing the Gospel
• A love for people
• Experience of working with children/youth
• A willingness to learn the local language
• Flexibility
• Humility and patience
• Be a team player

In the past we have advertised a role for someone to come alongside Sinti & Roma children and youth in Albania who collect plastic bottles to sell and beg instead of going to school, to share Gods love with them, visit their family with food packages, run evangelistic kids programmes, play football with youth and do some basic teaching.

Another example is in the UK, we have run a placement for people looking to develop their skills with reaching children with the gospel through puppet ministry.

Raising Support

Most people joining OM raise financial support towards the cost of their salaries/expenses. This is usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters. Training and support in this will be provided.
