Are you skilled and trained in IT? Are you passionate about seeing the Gospel spreading to the nations? We are looking for people with relevant skills and experience to help us have a greater impact by ensuring we have good IT systems and support in place.

OM works in over 110 countries and there are many computer/IT opportunities for a year, 2 years or longer in many of these places as well as, sometimes, on board our ship, Logos Hope.

Your role could include some or most of the following:

• Providing support to team members and hands-on IT support
• Providing IT training
• Maintaining and updating IT policies and procedures
• Maintenance of PCs and laptops
• Management and distribution of licenses
• Maintenance of networks and printers
• Assistance with GDPR from an IT aspect
• Website development and management
• Ensuring data privacy and IT security
• Being involved in other local ministries with the OM team

There will be OM related IT training and OM International technical support for your role.

Requirements

Requirements differ for each role, but you will likely need:

• Necessary computer and communication skills
• Good knowledge of relevant computer programmes and operating systems
• Creativity and flexibility
• Willingness to work in a team
• Willingness to learn the local language
• To be patient, friendly and approachable to those you support
• Able to follow policies and procedures precisely and recognise any changes that may have an impact outside of your particular task
• Enjoy computing and desire to grow and learn more about this field

Ministry Opportunities

An example of an opportunity we have offered in the past is for a computer skills teacher in Central Asia to serve in a community-based educational centre developing programmes to train people, from all walks of life, in various computer skills from introduction to Windows to networking and web design. Another opportunity was for an IT manager in Hungary which included keeping all the policies and procedures up to date, providing IT support for the team, providing IT training and maintaining the web-based interactions.

Raising Support

Most people joining OM raise financial support towards the cost of their salaries/expenses. This is usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters. Training and support in this is provided.
